Anthurium

“Is it real?”. The most popular question asked when customers see this flower. This glossy robust flower has the feature of a single spathe, which protrudes from the top of the flower, giving it its unique look. Grown in tropical conditions in its natural state and commercially grown in hot house environments ensures that this little number is available for supply throughout the year.

Used for tropical bouquets, modern and structured arrangements and even the simplicity of a single flower in a bud vase makes this flower a favourite with us. With new varieties and colours being introduces the colour range is endless.

Amaryllis

A timeless classic that shouts “Christmas”. Available as a cut flower and very popular with gardeners when grown from their bulbs.

In abundance at Christmas with red and whites being the most popular colour, the amaryllis cut flower is available from late autumn to early spring.  Whatever the occasion this is very dramatic flower.  The amaryllis bulb lies dormant until late summer, when one or two stems will sprout from the bulb. Once flowering has finished the bulb can be stored and replanted each year.

The beauty of the amaryllis continues and now more than ever we are using the flower increasingly often. When in season we will often keep stock of this opulent flower, but it always best to seek out the amaryllis in advance, as it may be necessary for the us to order the flowers especially for you. The effort required in the continued cultivation of amaryllis is often reflected in the price, making it more expensive per stem than more common flower varieties. Like all good things in life however, they come at a cost!

Aspidistra

One of may favourite foliages as it can be used in so many versatile ways. Looped and twisted in bouquets and reshaped and pinned in dramatic arrangements. It is no wonder that it has been within the flower industry since the Victorian times, but in a confusing twist we class it as modern foliage.

As a plant the aspidistra is very easy to care and if neglected from time to time should still survive. Hence it’s second name the "cast iron plant". When used as cut foliage the broad leaves have a beautiful finish when leaf shined, then with its fantastic vase life ensures value for money.
